Lent is a season of waiting for God to answer the prayers of the repentant, a season hemmed in by the parenthesis of the astounding birth of God in the form of a human baby and of the glory of his promise fulfilled in the resurrection of Jesus. Between those end marks lie the ellipsis which define our waiting, our hope, our persistence. Three dots. For prayer, for fasting, for giving. As we wait…
